Within this unit we will develop our listening and appraising skills by extending our knowledge of orchestral instruments.

You learn to     

Identify the four sections of the orchestra and name instruments Identify instruments from listening extracts Develop aural awareness Respond to and evaluate different music

The sections of the orchestra The different instruments and how they produce sound The elements of music Different musical styles and genres

Knowledge of orchestral instruments and which section they belong to Good listening skills and understanding of the elements of music The ability to work well on your own and with others
