Focus
Pupils will develop an awareness of the cultural and historical background of Indian music through listening and compositional tasks.  Become aware of the terms raga and tala and know how these are constructed.  Pupils will be able to compose and perform their own.  Discriminate between Indian and other ethnic music.  Pupils will develop understanding of raga, drone, improvisation on a tala and discuss these.  Pupils will also learn the names of common Indian instruments
